First Look

The ShieldUI Combobox jQuery plugin is easy to use and integrate into any page or existing application.
It duffers form the standard dropdown component, in that it allows entering symbols, rather than just selecing a value from the dropdown.

Local Databinding

The Combobox widget can be easily bound to both local and remote data. This is achieved through its tight integration with the ShieldUI DataSource component. This means that once you setup the local data object, you can pass it to the combobox component with a single property, without having to add any custom code or extra coding.

Remote Databinding

The Combobox widget supports binding to remote data sources as well. Similar to the dropdown component, this helps reduce development time, since the control can be easily passed a portion of the page data, instead of repeatedly populating it for each component.


The Combobox control includes an autocomplete feature, which allows character entry and lookup against the available entries. This feature is indispensable, when working with large datasets and many data items.
